The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation
Drew Westen
Star Time Entertainment's Comedy Club
608 Holcomb Bridge Road
Roswell, GA

404-303-9142 ext. 2

A Cappella Books is proud to join forces with the North Fulton Democrats to present an evening with Drew Westen. It's always a lively event with Drew and we are sure that will be the case on Tuesday, October 9 when he speaks at the Star Time Comedy Club in Roswell. Drew says, "In politics, when reason and emotion collide, emotion invariably wins. The Political Brain shows how a different view of the mind and brain leads to a different way of talking with voters about issues that have tongue-tied the Democrats for over forty years-such as abortion, guns, taxes and race. You can't change the structure of the brain but you can change the way you appeal to it."

Drew Westen, Ph.D. is a clinical, personality, and political psychologist, and Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Emory University. He has formerly taught at the University of Michigan, Harvard Medical School and Boston University. Dr. Westen is the author of three books and over 100 scholarly articles. He frequently comments on political and psychological issues on radio, television and in print, including 10 years as a commentator on National Public Radio's All Things Considered. He is the author of The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation, and the founder of Westen Strategies. He has advised a range of candidates and organizations, from presidential candidates to the Democratic Policy Committee of the U.S. Senate, and is widely sought out as a consultant by congressional and senate candidates and state Democratic parties and caucuses.

P.S. Bill Clinton says,
"This is the most interesting, informative book on politics I've read in many years... you have to read this book!"
