John Moe
Conservatize Me: A Lifelong Lefty’s Attempt to Love God, Guns, Reagan, and Toby Keith (paperback)

Author John Moe’s mission in Conservatize Me is to entirely change his way of thinking. A self-described lifelong liberal, Moe ventures outside of his bubble of left-of-center culture and politics in Seattle to see if he can not only understand the conservative mind, but actually become conservative himself.
Moe takes the reader on a trip - both physically and psychologically - across the landscape of conservative America on his quest to change his worldview, a journey during which he develops a new-found appreciation of Richard Nixon as well as a healthy hatred of Lee Greenwood.
While not quite the 300 pages of anti-Republican ammunition one might expect it to be, Conservatize Me certainly offers interesting insight into the (believe it or not) varied thought processes of a demographic that many of us do not have the occasion to deal with on a regular basis.
