A Cappella Books has managed to keep its doors open in Little 5 Points since 1989. We have seen a lot of other folks come and go. Georgia Music Magazine is a quarterly publication focused on music entertainment in Georgia. The magazine includes profiles of the state’s hitmakers, independent artists, pioneers, colorful characters related to music, industry figures, l&marks, festivals, events, venues, & history.
Ponce de Leon Records is an Atlanta-based independent record label run by music journalist Chad Radford. The label’s interests lie primarily in creating a forum for experimental and avant-garde music that’s rooted in, but not limited to the Southeastern United States.

ART PAPERS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the examination, development and definition of art and culture in the world today. Its mission is to provide an independent and accessible forum for the exchange of perspectives on the role of contemporary art as a socially relevant and engaged discourse.
Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery Established in 1998, Eyedrum is a non-profit organization developing an interdisciplinary approach to the arts by incorporating a wide range of contemporary art, music and new media in its gallery space.
New Street Gallery / Recordings is a contemporary art gallery and live music venue for emerging and independent artists, including Juju B. solomon, Ocha la Rocha and Isia Cooper.
The Opal Gallery Located next door to A Cappella Books and host to A Cappella's author events, readings and musical performances, The Opal Gallery is curated by a collective of artists who are passionate about creating a meeting place for the arts and bringing a broader contemporary discourse to photography and film-based media. Through exhibitions and events, The Opal Gallery is a platform for regional, national and international emerging and mid-career artists to develop and present their work. The Opal Gallery is dedicated to fostering a community in Atlanta that values art that is contemporary and purposeful.
Literature
The Chattahoochee Review is a nationally recognized literary magazine sponsored by Georgia Perimeter College. The quarterly magazine’s purpose, a tradition begun twenty-seven years ago, is to publish original writing of literary merit, which includes: creative writing, essays, fiction, literary criticisms; everything you’ve come to expect from Atlanta's oldest literary magazine.

The Georgia Center for the Book is the state affiliate of the Center for the Book at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The Center's mission is the support of libraries, literacy and literature, particularly Georgia's rich literary heritage. There are Centers in each of the 50 states; the Georgia Center was chartered in early 1998 with the DeKalb County Public Library serving as the host site.

Paul Hemphill: The greatest influence on Hemphill's life was the minor-league baseball manager who released him one week into spring training, forcing him to college. A teacher at Auburn said he had a way with words, which led to teaching himself how to write, which led to various sportswriting jobs, which lead to a daily general column in The Atlanta Journal, which led to a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University. There he wrote his first book, The Nashville Sound, and he's been writing them ever since.
