High school English classes have ingrained in many that classic literature is “boring.” Even those who do appreciate the classics might overlook these titles in favor of more contemporary ones due to the misperception that classic fiction is outdated or irrelevant. This book club seeks to reinvigorate the classics and make them more applicable to contemporary culture by tying them into current issues and events. The hope is that we’ll all grow our canon of the titles we’ve read while gaining a new appreciation for classic fiction.

The Classic Lit Book Club meets at Manuel's Tavern on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM.

Unfortunately, this book club is full and not accepting new members.
