Julia and the Bazooka is a posthumous collection of stories by this marvelous British experimentalist. Born Helen Emily Woods (1901-- 1968), she would later be known by her married name Helen Ferguson. Yet Woods/Ferguson published many of her books under the pseudonym of Anna Kavan, the name by which she is remembered when she is remembered at all. She lived a troubled life but travelled widely and published well written stories in a variety of genres. Her works influenced Doris Lessing, J.G. Ballard, Brian Aldiss and Jean Rhys, to name just a few. This collection of 15 stories only begins to show the depth of her creativity.
