Fanshen: A Documentary of Revolution in a Chinese Village

Monthly Review Press. Cloth. Used - Good / No Jacket. Item #237323

Dustjacket is missing. Reprint edition. Heavily worn reprint nicely inscribed by William Hinton on verso of half-title page, opposite title page, 'For William & Sally, to be read'... word not legible ...'or whatever mountain it is that now challenges your'... not legible... 'Bill H.' and on next line author writes full name, 'William H. Hinton'. Red cloth covered boards somewhat worn silver lettering on spine. Wear to board edges, heavy wear at corners. Bruising top & bottom of spine. Nice map of Changchih Lucheng Area on ochre end pages front & back. A bit of give to spine, but binding remains sound, intact. Pulling at top of spine, but still sound at bottom. This is an important book, and I believe I purchased this book to read from a thrift store without myself or the seller having noticed the inscription. This was decade or three ago, so the details are far from certain. I do not know the provenance, as is often the case in this business, but the signature looks good to me.
