Brevity Press, 1976. First Edition. Paper Back. Used - Very Good. Item #239492
Octavo (Six & 3/4-inch x Eight & 1/4-inch) First edition in original wraps. Mild wear to edges. Creased front cover lower, right corner. In clear vinyl jacket. Slight lean to spine. (108 pages). Signed & inscribed verso of front cover: 'Aug. 17, 1977. For my very good friend and fellow poet-- Love and all good wishes-- Walter Griffin' . It is unclear who the 'fellow poet' of the inscription, might have been. I cannot recall where I acquired this one. There is a seemingly unrelated, curiousity laid into this copy of Port Authority. On a Five & 3/4-inch x Seven & 3/4-inch piece of papere there is a poem by the poet, Daniel Whitehead Hicky (1900 - 1976) from Bright Harbor (Henry Holt and Co., 1932). The poem appears to be written in blue ballpoint, and is in longhand. But it is unknown who wrote it out. The handwriting does not look like Walter Griffin's handwriting. It is pretty obvious the 'fellow poet' already mention is not Daniel Whitehead Hicky because according to an contemporary obituary in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Mr Hicky died in July of 1976, and the Griffin inscription is dated August 1977. Mystery on top of mystery.
