Camden's Eyes

Doubleday & Company / Paris Review Editions, January 1969. First Edition. Cloth. Used - Very Good / Good. Item #239879
ISBN: B002G4G0JS

First American edition in chipped/edgeworn dustjacket with darkening to margins, spine & verso. Not price clipped. Original price of $3.95 on jacket flap. Black cloth covered boards with grey splotches/stains & gold lettering & border along spine. Black end pages with small grey Paris Review Editions' funny bird atop arrow colophon bordered by thin gold frame. Textblock top edge light-darkened with dust staining. Deckled fore-edge likewise tanned. Tight binding. Interiors without markings, underlining, side-notes, etc. Signed by Austin Wright on title page. This is Wright's first novel. It is wonderful, and quite uncommon. Despite a 2016 Tom Ford decent, cool and creepy film adaptation (the movie version renamed Nocturnal Animals) of another excellent Austin novel, Tony and Susan (1993), the author remains underappreciated. (336 pages).
