First U.S. Edition. Easy to tell this is first edition because of small GHD colophon below copyright. Dustjacket is missing. Purple cloth with gold lettering on spine. Some slight fade to gilt lettering. Front board edge slightly bruised near bottom left corner. Cloth edge somewhat worn bottom of spine, but overall the cover has held up quite well. Top textblock edge deeply darkened with spotting/foxing at top as well as deckled fore-edge. Tanned end pages, especially at gutters. Heavily foxed/spotted through internal text, though does not hinder readability. Good+/Very good starter copy. (248 pages)
