Quarter bound: black cloth covered spine with foil stamped lettering in turquoise & cerulean blue & carolina blue paper cover board lightly faded at edges. Boards are somewhat bowed and there is a lean of the spine. Brown stains to boards front and back. Inked date, 'May 22', the publication date in fact, on front free end page. Slight dust staining top textblock edge. Originally published in French in 1949 as 'Précis de décomposition'. Nevertheless, the U.S. edition is uncommon title.
