This is the 4th novel published by the somewhat less famous of the Faulkner author brothers. Well worn with darkened margins, heavily darkened textblock edges. The binding is tender, yet intact. A previous owner inkedtheir name, locale and a date on the verso of the wrapper. The front cover states 'An Original Novel -- Not a reprint', which is not exactly the truth. What this statement means is that this is a paperback original, not previously released in hardcover, but this copy is in a reprint in the sense most book collectors would understand that to mean. It was first printed August, 1951 and then reprinted 3 more times to get to this 4th printing. All of this is made clear (though clearly confusing) on the copyright page.
