Hunt (1862 to 1942) was a prolific novelists, publishing more than two dozen books in her lifetime. Yet, she is best remembered for her relationships (in several instances romantic) with more famous author's of the period. Her famous friends included Oscar Wilde, H.G. Wells, Somerset Maugham, Joseph Conrad, Ezra Pound, D.H. Lawrence, Henry James, Ford Madox Ford and others. She was famous for organizing something called literary salons, were the great minds and pens of literature would get together for the exchange of ideas. Gatherings served the writers to 'amuse one another and increase their knowledge through conversation', so says Wickipedia.
