Nice association copy: inscribed by previous owner, 'Yasuo Sasaki, of Cincinnati, Ohio' who was 'A pioneering Nisei poet and intellectual, Yasuo Sasaki (1911–2008) was also a physician and defendant in a landmark civil rights case,' according to online Densho Encyclopedia. He also, 'Sasaki played an important role in ensuring protection of abortion rights.' 'Nisei' are ' ethnically Japanese children born in the new country to Japanese-born immigrants'. There are penciled marginal markings scattered through the text. Tanned end pages. 306 pages.
