Port of New York, an influential study of American modernism shortly after the decline of its peak, brought on by the 'war to end war', WWI 1914–1918. Sadly, war did not end not, and arguably nor has moderism, which carries on influencing everything that follows. All of which made this book worth reissuing in 1961 by University of Illinois Press, [311 pages]
