Octavo in well worn, rubbed jacket with lightened spine. Lilac cloth covered boards with black lettering along spine. First three or so pages curled from exposure to moisture. There is a 'The Purple Dragon and other Fantasies' bookplate affixed to half title page with facsimile of Baum's signature. Upon this same plate illustrator, Tim Kirk and editor, David L. Greene have added there actual signatures. In 1976 I would guess no one was confused by the printed and false signature next to the real signatures written in ink. They were not fooled due to fact L. Frank Baum died 57 years before The Purple Dragon and Other Fantasies was published. Today, 47 years later, the time when L. Frank Baum was alive has become blurried with the passage of time.
