Vivian Howard Book Signing at A Cappella Books

Tuesday, Oct 25, 2016 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Location:
A Cappella Books
208 Haralson Ave, Atlanta, GA 30307

Vivian Howard put the small town of Kinston, North Carolina on the culinary map with her acclaimed restaurant Chef and the Farmer, and, after co-creating and starring in the PBS series A Chef’s Life, she became the first woman since Julia Child to win a Peabody award for a cooking program. Now, the inimitable Howard releases her first cookbook, Deep Run Roots: Stories and Recipes from My Corner of the South. From Fried Cornbread to Blueberry BBQ Chicken, from Pecan Chewy Pie to Chocolate Fig Gravy, Howard’s playful and intimate cookbook celebrates the flavors of her eastern North Carolina home and brings the deluxe dishes of Chef and the Farmer to every home kitchen. From start to finish, this cookbook is a culinary love letter to the region Howard has spent her life discovering; a landmark work that gives richness and depth to a cuisine that has been overlooked for far too long.

To celebrate the release of her new book, Vivian Howard is embarking on a Food Truck Tour. On Tuesday, October 25th at 6 PM, she will make a stop at A Cappella Books and treat us to an evening of fine food and book signing.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $50 and include a signed, first edition of Deep Run Roots ($40 list price) as well as Vivian's specially prepared meal from the food truck.
