About the Book
At the beginning of last year, the world began facing a public health crisis, the scope of which not seen in a century. As COVID-19 rapidly reached every corner of the globe, chaos and fear spread with it. Yet, as the crisis continued, billions of people also decided to respond with love, care, and compassion. Even though we were separated physically, people were connecting and reaching out more than ever.
Tim Shriver saw this as an opportunity for people to come together and organized the Call to Unite event in May, which featured nearly 300 participants, raised more than $85 million dollars towards relief, and reached tens of millions of viewers in all fifty states.
“The Call to Unite: Voice of Hope and Awakening” captures the spirit and goal of that event and features words of hope, wisdom, and inspiration from all walks of life: doctors, nurses, activists, religious leaders, former presidents, and artists. There are over one hundred contributors, including:
Elizabeth Gilbert and TD Jakes
Chef José Andrés
Amy Grant, and more
With poems, essays, prayers, and insightful conversations, ”The Call to Unite” offers solace and guidance not only to help us get through a crisis, but help us get through it together, happier, stronger, and more hopeful.
