Square and still tight in lightly shaken green and aubergine cloth boards. Extremities moderately to heavily rubbed. Corners heavily bumped. Spine heavily faded with 1/2' of head profoundly tattered/frayed, heel less so. Edges where backstrip meets boards are nicked with a 1' split on rear board (still holding). Covers are lightly spotted, scratched and/or soiled. Front and rear illustrated endpapers show darkening and transference with mild/moderated scattered foxing. Deckled edges lightly toned. Color plate facing title page starting to pull, but still holding and could easily be repaired. Previous owner bookplate on ffep. Interior clean with no markings. Charmingly illustrated by Rhea Wells. 1931 on title page and copyright page. Stated First Edition. A elusive version of an uncommon title. In mylar.
