This event is free and open to the public. Copies of “The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne” will be available for purchase at the venue.

About the Book

“Literary thrillers just don’t come any better than Ron Currie’s ‘The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne’—it’s profoundly serious and terrifying in equal measure.” — Richard Russo, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "Somebody’s Fool"

Babs Dionne is a Franco-American grandmother and a ruthless crime boss, controlling the flow of drugs into her small Maine town with the help of her fiercely loyal lieutenants. But when a major drug kingpin suspects something is amiss in the region, he sends a mysterious enforcer—known only as "The Man"—to investigate.

At the same time, Babs’ youngest daughter, Sis, has gone missing. When her body is found, a storm of violence is unleashed, and the entire town braces for Babs’ wrath.

Blending crime fiction with literary depth, “The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne” is a gripping story of power, vengeance, and the inescapable ties of family.
