Books about the movies meet one of the greatest movies about the movies, with "Sunset Boulevard" screening at 4 PM.

A Cappella Books is going to the movies! We’ll be setting up shop in the lobby of the Tara Theatre for an afternoon devoted to two things we never seem to get enough of: books and film.

We’re pulling together a large selection of used and collectible books from our shelves, with a particular emphasis on film and Hollywood’s Golden Age. Expect biographies and memoirs from actors and directors, film history and criticism, books about Hollywood and classic cinema, and plenty of other finds for anyone who loves the movies.

At 4 PM, the Tara will screen Billy Wilder’s 1950 classic “Sunset Boulevard,” starring Gloria Swanson and William Holden. It’s one of Hollywood’s great films about Hollywood itself, which makes it good company for an afternoon spent digging through books about the history of cinema.

You do not need a movie ticket to come browse and shop. The pop-up runs from 2 to 7 PM and is free and open to everyone.
