At the November edition of Writers at the Wrecking Bar, National Book Award finalist and author of the award-winning and bestselling novel “House of Leaves,” Mark Z. Danielewski, will discuss his new book, “The Little Blue Kite,” with music journalist and Creative Loafing Atlanta podcast host Chad Radford. Atlanta's #1 guitar duo, FLAP, will open the night with a short set at 7 p.m.

About the Book

We all have fears, but if we can't face the small ones how will we face the big ones? Kai is afraid to fly a little blue kite. But Kai is also very, very brave, and overcoming this small fear will lead him on a great adventure.

Remember: all great adventures start with one little moment. You know the one. It's like a gentle breeze whispering in your ear what you already know by heart:

not even the sky is the limit . . .

About the Author

Mark Z. Danielewski was born in New York City and lives in Los Angeles. He is the author of the award-winning and bestselling novel “House of Leaves,” National Book Award finalist “Only Revolutions,” and the novella “The Fifty Year Sword,” which was performed on Halloween three years in a row at REDCAT.

His books have been translated into multiple languages, and his work has been the focus of university classes and literary events. In 2015, Danielewski's “Thrown,” a reflection on Matthew Barney's film, “Cremaster 2,” was displayed at the Guggenheim Museum during its Storylines exhibition.

With the release of the series, The New York Times declared Danielewski "America's foremost literary Magus."
